Selesai kuliah tadi, lepak sekejap kat parking lot dengan coursemates & lecturer. Saya mula-lah bercerita tentang masalah time interview seorang hamba Allah semalam. Pot pet pot pet duk ber-story telling, our lecturer tu pon kasitaw la tentang status 'kecewa' dekan pusat pengajian kami di laman sosial Facebook. Then balik bilik teruslah check check check it out. Hahaha. So berikut adalah luahan hati beliau, mohon kita sama-sama ambil iktibar :)
-- I was having lunch with my wife and daughter at Anjung Budi, USM. My wife stood up to get her food and left our table. Another patron (a student I suppose and not sure whether Malaysian or not) grab the chair which was left vacant by my wife, without even asking. I suppose any culture any where in the world would teach their people to politely ask whether one can take the chair or not ...from another table. As he was grabbing the chair away, I stood up and nicely told him (in English) that there's someone else sitting in that chair. Ignoring my words, he pulled the chair away and sat a few table away from ours. I walked to him and asked him whether he understood what I've said. Uncouthly, he stood up and replied "NO, I DON'T UNDERSTAND" (Yes, in English). How stupid can you be to answer in a language that you claim you don't understand. But that's not the point. The problem is in a university, where people are supposed to be more civilised that those outside, we have people who is simply BIADAP, KURANG AJAR, ANGKUH, UNCIVILISED and UNCULTURED! Since I was not in the mood for a fight, I let him off. But I wonder from whose hole this boy comes from. For him this is what I can say (if he can understand BM).
"Dalam msyrkt binatang tidak ada manusia, tetapi di dalam msyrkt manusia ada binatang!"
- by Professor Dr Adnan Hussein, Dean, School of Communication, USM.
Pengajaran:
Even kamu anak datuk, even kamu pemilik hotel 7-8 bintang, or maybe kamu keturunan bangsawan sekalipun, ADAB TETAP ADAB. Former Vice-Chancellor of USM in his last speech reminded us of trilogy budi - Budi Bahasa, Budi Pekerti dan Budi Bicara. YEDOK?
